With Ayrin Gharibpour
Bring your favorite sketches to life through the meditative art of needle felting! In this hands-on session, you’ll learn to sculpt loose wool into a solid, three-dimensional character based on your own doodles or designs. We provide a vibrant palette of wool colors to help your creation burst with personality. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a unique fuzzy companion to guard your desk or wear as a custom bag charm.
About the Artist:
Ayrin Gharibpour is a fabricator, animator and educator based in Los Angeles. Ayrin was born and raised in Iran and attended the Art University of Tehran where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design. She has ten years of experience in illustrating children's books and performing as puppeteer for theaters both in Tehran and Los Angeles including Aran Marionette Theater, The Bob Baker Marionette Theater, the Skirball Cultural Center and Redcat Theater. Ever admire the brilliant orange wildflowers that cover the landscape every spring? Capture the beauty of California’s iconic golden poppy while you master 4 foundational embroidery stitches.
After practicing the fundamentals, you’ll learn backstitch, satin stitch, fly stitch, and whipped back stitch. You’ll also get tips and advice on how to make your piece special and how to use what you learn to make almost any flower you see.
At the end of the workshop, you’ll take home a unique piece and instructions for how to display it.
No previous experience needed. This beginner-friendly workshop includes all supplies. Just bring yourself.

Enshrine a photograph in a stained glass picture frame
In this workshop led by Inessa Illes, you'll work with a selection of pre-cut glass shapes to build a frame sized to hold a favorite photo, polaroid, or photobooth strip.
Inessa will guide you through each step of the process, from selecting and arranging your pieces to soldering them together into a finished piece.
Bring your own photo to use for the sizing of the frame!

Explore color, pattern, and texture using pieces of reclaimed tile to make a pair of mosaic coasters.
In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn the basics of mosaic design and assembly. Using recycled ceramic tiles smashed to smaller pieces, participants will be able to create a pattern or design, and transform ceramics waste into a functional home good.

Join us for June’s snailspace gathering! snailspace is a series of outdoor experiences for those wishing to slow down and commune with nature and each other over art and tea.
June’s activity will be a sound bath, tea ceremony, and herbal tea crafting led by Allie Brown.
Each snailspace pairs a tea component with an art activity rooted in natural processes.

Join us for a craft à la carte at Clay Cafe! Choose from handbuilding, glazing, painting, and more — we’re so excited to offer a craft cafe to accommodate more people, more art, and more community building. Rather than a place where you only go to attend workshops, we want house mouse to be a place for the community to gather, make connections, and create all at the same time, and on a more regular basis.
Join us for a free fiber craft circle loosely guided by Isabelle Caldwell
Bring your own knitting, crochet, or mending projects! Isabelle will be available to help with troubleshooting or brainstorming ideas, and some materials will be available to use.
This is a recurring, free community craft night every two weeks on Tuesday evenings.

Learn the basics of cyanotype & solar printing while preserving a picture of your pet on an item of clothing!
Cyanotype is a photographic printing process that uses sunlight to transfer an image onto a printing medium. You'll learn the process of solar printing, then make a custom print of your pet's photo on a t-shirt or tote. We'll have shirts available, or bring your own item.

workshop FAQs
Before You Come

Wear comfortable clothes you don't mind getting a little messy. Clay, paint, and ink can sometimes get on clothing. Closed-toe shoes are recommended, especially for stained glass workshops.

Absolutely. Most of our workshops are designed for complete beginners, and we'll teach you everything you need to know. If a workshop requires previous experience, we'll note that in the description.

Just yourself! We provide all materials, tools, and supplies. Feel free to bring a water bottle and notebook if you like taking notes.
Tickets/Logistics

Yes! Tickets are transferable. Just email us at squeak@housemouse.la with the new attendee's name and contact info so we can update our roster.

Tickets are non-refundable, but they are transferable. If you can't make it, you're welcome to give your spot to a friend.

Yes! When you purchase, enter the recipient's name and email at checkout, and we'll add them to our roster and send them all workshop communications.

Please let us know as soon as possible. We start on time so everyone gets the full workshop experience. If you're more than 15 minutes late, we may not be able to accommodate you depending on the session.
For Ceramic Workshops

Ceramics need time to dry and go through two firings (bisque and glaze). Your pieces will typically be ready for pickup 2-3 weeks after the workshop. We'll email/text you when they're ready!

No problem! We'll hold your pieces for up to 3 months from the date we notify you they're ready. After 3 months, unclaimed pieces will be donated or recycled.

Yes! Just let us know who will be picking them up when you get our ready-for-pickup email.

We try our best to help you ensure your pieces will be strong & sturdy. It's rare, but breaks happen — ceramics can be unpredictable! We'll let you know if anything doesn't survive the firing process. It's part of working with clay, and we'll help you understand what might have caused it. We’ll also
