As we enter the spring season, set intentions with us in this reflective and meditative two-part handbuilding and candle dipping workshop. Create your own candle altars adorned with silver charms to guide and protect you throughout the rest of the year.
After an introduction on basic handbuilding techniques, you will build a pair of candle holders or single candelabra with the clay of your choice. As you build, reflect on your intentions for the new season, and how the ritual of lighting candles will play a role in realizing these intentions— whether it’s to slow down, take time to reflect, foster community, or any other dreams you wish to manifest.
Once our candle holders have been built, we will engage in an intention setting ritual by candlelight, in which we decorate a placard with 2-3 intentions for the season and year, and make charms, trinkets, or runes that represent these intentions out of silver clay.
We will come back together to hand dip candles after your ceramic pieces and silver charms have been fired. In this second session, we will explore candle form, shape, and texture. You can choose to either embed your silver charms in the wax of your candles, or hang them as an adornment from your candle holders, serving as a reminder of your intentions each time you light them. If you decide to embed your charms, your candles will burn away to leave you with pure silver reminders or protective guides for the year to come.

Join us in a celebration of spring flowers with CHĀ HUĀ - HUĀ CHÁ: Arranging & Drinking Flowers.
A play on the phonetic Chinese words, CHĀ HUĀ translates to “arrange flowers” and HUĀ CHÁ to “flower tea.” In this two-part workshop, we will engage with the mediums of clay and flowers in a variety of ways, for a delectable tactile experience that inspires all of the senses.
Workshop Curriculum
Session 1: You’ll learn the basics of ceramic handbuilding to create two vessels - one to be used as a tea cup and the other as a miniature vase. This will be a time to play with and feel the clay as you build two functional forms. We will also go over a few techniques to add texture and details to adorn the vessels. We’ll glaze and fire your vessels to be used in Session 2.
Session 2: Use your vessels to arrange flowers and drink tea. Using the best flowers the season has to offer, including hellebores, fritillaria, sweet peas, flowering branches, and others, and focusing on locally sourced blooms, we will create ikebana-inspired compositions with an emphasis on line and form in a meditative process. There will be Hua Tea herbal and black flower tea blends available to taste, as well as ingredients for you to experiment with your own tea blend, creating a flower arrangement in another form.
Open to all skill levels, no prior experience required. All flowers, materials and tools provided. Each participant will take home their two vessels and flower arrangement.
Tickets are transferable but non-refundable. Maximum 12 participants, minimum 5 participants - if there are fewer sign-ups tickets will be refunded.
Krystal Chang is a florist, architect, and designer currently working on public artworks, botanical installations, and residential landscapes. Learn more about her work at http://www.krystalchang.com

Join us for a fun and sustainable creative session where you make a unique and high quality bag charm or keychain, by making a ceramic charm and bedazzling it with semi-precious stones, pearls, and glass. 🍷🍇 This event is BYOB– feel free to bring your own wine and snacks.
Process
In the first hour, you will learn basic hand-building techniques for the clay portion, then it’s choose your own adventure from there! At the second hour, the jewelry-making/ beading portion will be introduced. You will choose your beads from a wide variety and have time to plan your design before threading everything together. In the final hour, you will return to the clay charm to add colorful details using underglaze. The workshop is structured to give everyone plenty of time with each portion, but choose your own pace, and take a snack break whenever! 🐢…🐇.. you will leave everything at the venue to be picked up at a later date.
After the event, I will fire your projects at a pottery studio, glossy-glaze everything, and fire it a second time before preparing them for pick up. Once your work is ready for pickup, you will be notified by text and/or email. Items can also be shipped for an additional fee.
You will love having made an accessory yourself from start to finish! Not only that, but you can feel good knowing it was made with natural and sustainable materials, so that at the end of its life, each piece can return to the earth: wooden beads can be composted, stone and glass can be reused or decorate the garden, and metal findings can be recycled.

Izabela of Cool Girl Making Zines (@coolgirlmakingzines) will be joining us to host a zine workshop! She will be bringing a fabulously curated collection of materials for participants to experiment with as we learn how to create DIY 8-page personal zines with collage, drawing, and multimedia elements.
There will be prompts and zines to get inspired by but everyone is welcome to use their own ideas. The workshop will begin with a short history and fun facts about zines.
You don’t need to bring anything, just come ready to play and create! No prior experience is needed. Zine making offers a creative space for intuitive process, experimentation, mistakes, messiness and freedom.
Izabela is a zine maker whose works are deeply inspired by nature, emotions, playfulness, and slowing down. Fuelled by her childlike wonder, her art is whimsical and curious. By playing with different materials, adding layers and textures, and mixing collage with words, she creates unique zines, each of them is an extension of herself.

malavika rao is a multidisciplinary artist and educator primarily working in painting, fiber, and installation. malavika’s practice recontextualizes practices of homemaking as methods of worldmaking. malavika uses craft to heal generational trauma and tend to the fragile relationship between care and survival. In their installations, malavika employs various crafting practices as modes of speculative world-building—creating spaces to interrogate inherited structures of care. They propose alternative relational frameworks grounded in reciprocity and collective sustenance, invoking a deeper, cosmological sense of interconnectedness, where the act of making becomes a ritual of repair, attunement, and orientation toward life-affirming futures.

Join us for our third snailspace gathering! snailspace is a series of outdoor experiences for those wishing to slow down and commune with nature and each other over art and tea.
This month, we’ll be using sunlight and found objects to create cyanotype and anthotype sun prints. Cyanotypes use iron chemistry and direct sunlight to produce vivid Prussian blue prints in just minutes — you'll arrange found objects like leaves, feathers, and grasses into compositions, expose them in the sun, and rinse them in water to reveal the print on the spot. Anthotypes use plant-based pigment as the light-sensitive material, and because they're slower, you'll set yours up at the beginning of the workshop and expose it in the background while working on cyanotypes. Printing materials will be provided, but feel free to bring materials you’d like to experiment with from home.
You'll leave with finished cyanotype and anthotype prints, as well as a booklet of sunprinting recipes to try at home.
Krystal Chang of Hua Tea will provide tea. Sip on a variety of flower teas as you create your sun prints!
No experience necessary, all skill levels welcome.
Each snailspace pairs a tea component with an art activity rooted in natural processes.
