Los Video Nasties Tour 2026
¡Los Video Nasties 2026 TOUR stops by L.A at house mouse!
8 award-winning short films from all over Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Argentina—spanning LGBTQ+ dramas, documentaries, monologues, and experimental animation. From amateur filmmakers, film students, and professional artists, this program celebrates the full spectrum of independent cinema while having screenings everywhere between Tijuana to Tokyo.
Once censored, now celebrated. Los Video Nasties returns as a celebration of artistic freedom, bold storytelling, and uncensored expression.

Ticketing
To reserve a ticket, please choose your sliding scale tier, click “Add to Cart” and checkout. Your payment receipt will be emailed to you and will serve as your entry ticket at the event. Tickets are transferable but non-refundable.
Each purchase of this digital ticket is valid for one admission to Los Video Nasties Film Festival on September 5th.

About the Program
Los Video Nasties is an independent and self-managed cultural project developed from Tijuana, Baja California by La Casa Norte.
La Casa Norte is an independent cultural collective originating from Tijuana, Baja California, created and initially sustained through the direct effort and self-financing of two siblings interested in building alternative spaces for cinema, art, and emerging expression outside of institutional dynamics traditionally limiting for many independent cultural projects.

Regional Short Films (State of Baja California):
La H también suena (Tijuana, México, 2025).
AWARD: BEST VIDEO NASTIE & BEST SCREENPLAY.
Dir. Alejandra Anzorena.
Synopsis: The H Also Sounds is a letter to neurotypical society, showing that there are other ways to see and feel life. Ahbel shares his perspective and the challenges of entering adulthood as someone with Asperger’s. Falling in love, finding a job, dealing with death are events everyone faces, but not everyone experiences them the same way. Ahbel raises several questions throughout the short film, but the most important one is: Do we live in an inclusive society?
National Short Films (Mexico):
Callejeras (Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, 2026).

Synopsis: When a teenage girl and a black cat are forced to live on the streets, they must set aside their rivalry to escape a dangerous situation.
CRISANTEMO (Mexico & Brazil, 2024).

Dir. Yuri Matoszko & Kane Kwik.
Synopsis: Matías and Itaii, two young men from completely different worlds, are drawn to each other. In their quest to know each other better, they embark on a journey that leads them to share their most intimate stories. All, except one.
DIME RO (Mexico City, Mexico, 2024).
AWARD: BEST PERFORMANCE.
Dir. Carolina Meza.
Synopsis: Romelia, a young queer woman, begins a journey of identity search and transition that puts her romantic relationship with “El Flako” at risk.
HOYO EN DOS (Coahuila, Mexico, 2024).
AWARD: BEST DIRECTION.
Dir. Bayron Norman.
Synopsis: During an innocent picnic, Emiliano accidentally hits Diego, his mother’s boyfriend, with a golf club, causing him to lose an eye. Emiliano is overwhelmed by guilt, and his mother’s attempts to help only fracture their relationship further, deepening the distance between Milo and Diego, the only father figure he knows.
Los Angeles, California (Mexico City, Mexico, 2025).
AWARD: JURY RECOGNITION.
Dir. Nadia Chavez & Oscar Palacios.
Synopsis: The two oldest dance halls in Mexico City, Salón Los Ángeles and California Dancing Club, have resisted closure throughout their history; largely thanks to their community, which has not allowed time to erode the union and dance that happens within them.

Synopsis: Gloria sneaks into a stranger’s house and examines every corner until she finds what she’s looking for. The thrill of the dirt and chaos around her produces a rhythmic orgasm.
LA MUDANZA (Peru, 2025).

Synopsis: In a life marked by routine, an elderly couple’s tranquility is interrupted by the passionate noises of their new neighbors. What begins as a simple annoyance unleashes an unexpected shake-up in their intimate world.

Join the LA Tenants Union-VyBe Local and our friends @housemouse.la for PLANT Y POT - a plant sale fundraiser for our member Karo! Karo is a neighbor, elder, plant vendor, and tenant activist who is being evicted from her home of many years due to the Ellis Act.
On Sunday, May 3 we will have plants for sale in handmade ceramic pots, live music from the band @meanseasons , food, drinks, tenant resources, and more! Hope to see you there 🪴❤️

Join us for a night of mutual aid and collective care as we come together to support community member Karo through her upcoming housing transition due to unjust eviction.
Karo is a friend, neighbor, elder, and tenant activist who is being evicted from her home of 12 years due to the Ellis Act.
After fighting her landlord in court and exhausting all options, she must transition to "market-rate" housing in June. This comes at a very challenging time, as ICE & DHS presence in LA has heavily impacted her work and income as a plant vendor.
We will be making pots for Karo to fill with plants and sell to raise funds for her housing transition. More details regarding plant sale to come!

Resident Showcase: Lilah Sniderman
Join Lilah and Eva from 5–8pm next Saturday, January 31st, at House Mouse. Music by Iris Ipsum starting at 5pm.
Sharing work made during their residency at house mouse, Lilah reimagines the vests worn by riot police as queer objects of protection. Their work is accompanied by a recent sculpture examining the role of American propaganda in maintaining borders by artist Eva Speiser. Together, their works consider objects of protection and violence.
Side Work.
a one-day solo show
Side Work is a selection of ceramic works by Tre Fisher made during and between shifts teaching and working as a technician at various studios and institutions from 2022-2024.
Side Work will be on display at house mouse in the courtyard for one day only. Join us to appreciate and revel in the musings and experimentations of Tre Fisher.
From the artist:
Works included begin with the Coffee Cat (made to serve as the LACC ceramics lab piggy bank) and ending with Tubthumper (large blue and white vase) were made largely while either teaching or kiln-teching around Los Angeles. The forms were made on the fly during demos where the core sentiment was learning how to listen to what the clay wanted to be rather than try to force it into something preconceived. During this time I would joke that each work was “just a test tile for glazing” but I think I was on the mark when I said it. Much of this work centered around my first toe dip into glaze formulation highlighted by works such as Ferdinand and That Cactus I saw at Norton Simon.

we’ll be hanging out in the courtyard, firing up the meat smoker, and serving up homemade sangria, cake, and treats & also new house mouse merch!!
there will be a community sculpture activity where you’ll get to work on a large ceramic piece together with everyone at the event. build up the structure, attach adornments, or carve in illustrations or messages. we’ll have lots of clay and tools to go around <3 we’ll fire it and then it will be on display in the courtyard to commemorate our first year!
all are welcome, bring your friends! thank you to everyone who has supported our little project by coming to workshops, supporting local artists, and being the best part of this space+community <3
