led by Malavika Rao
In this workshop we will create a hand-sewn pocket altar - a soft fabric pouch to hold keepsakes, photographs, ancestors, and intentions.
Together, we’ll think about what an altar can be: a site of care, a place to return to, or a way of honoring the everyday. We will stitch in keepsakes, attach small photographs, or add fabrics that hold significance, transforming the pouch into a personal anchor.
All materials will be provided, along with an assortment of fabric scraps and embellishments. Participants are encouraged to bring fabric remnants, small objects, or meaningful items they may want to incorporate into their altar. This workshop is beginner-friendly and open to all — no prior sewing experience needed.
Workshop Details:
Date: April 12
Time: 1:00pm - 4:00pm
Location: 850 N Virgil Ave
Class size: Limited to 10 participants
Skill level: Beginner-friendly - no experience required
