Izabela of Cool Girl Making Zines (@coolgirlmakingzines) will be joining us to host a zine workshop! She will be bringing a fabulously curated collection of materials for participants to experiment with as we learn how to create DIY 8-page personal zines with collage, drawing, and multimedia elements.
There will be prompts and zines to get inspired by but everyone is welcome to use their own ideas. The workshop will begin with a short history and fun facts about zines.
You don’t need to bring anything, just come ready to play and create! No prior experience is needed. Zine making offers a creative space for intuitive process, experimentation, mistakes, messiness and freedom.
Izabela is a zine maker whose works are deeply inspired by nature, emotions, playfulness, and slowing down. Fuelled by her childlike wonder, her art is whimsical and curious. By playing with different materials, adding layers and textures, and mixing collage with words, she creates unique zines, each of them is an extension of herself.
