Make a fabric good luck charm and learn the basics of hand sewing
Norigae (노리개), loosely translated as “playful trinket,” is a traditional Korean ornament worn as both decoration and protection. In this workshop, you’ll hand-sew your own norigae keychain using upcycled fabric scraps and vintage thread.
Choose your shape: the traditional triangle, or a fish, cat, or butterfly; and Lanie will walk you through the basic hand stitches to create your charm. You’ll leave with a finished charm on your keys and the fundamentals of stitching to use in future projects or repairs.
All materials and tools provided.
Lanie is a Korean American arts educator with a passion for upcyling. Catch her sewing quilts and teaching classes at Quilting for Community in the valley.
Workshop Details:
Date: Sunday, July 26th
Time: 11am - 1:30pm
Address: 850 N Virgil Ave, Los Angeles
Skill level: Beginner-friendly - no experience required
