creative residency at house mouse
We are excited to be launching our in-house residency program for those seeking a space to realize a larger-scale project.
In September 2025, we will run two trial sessions to help us evaluate the needs of the program and its participants and work out any issues, so these two sessions will be offered at a discounted rate.
Each session will consist of 2 weeks of weekday (and weekend upon scheduling) full day access to the studio space and its resources. We will be accepting 2 participants/applicants per session, and we'll end the month with a group show to share the work of all the program participants with friends and family.
This residency program is perfect for artists who need a space and/or kiln to realize a project, as well as burgeoning or experienced ceramic artists, potters, fiber artists, printmakers, and stained glass artists looking for a space to hone their craft and/or develop a collection of work.
You will have access to the studio's materials, tools and ceramic guidance/troubleshooting if desired. Please also feel free to bring or source materials if you have specific materials in mind for your project.
Supported mediums: ceramics, fiber, printmaking, stained glass. For mediums other than ceramic: Our studio tools and equipment will be available for you to use, but you may need to buy your own materials such as glass, yarn, ink, etc.
All skill levels welcome.
We will accept one sculpture applicant per session, with a max piece size of 2.75 cubic feet. This is intended to be a space for creatives to share ideas, learn from each other, and focus on their work.
Ceramic artists:
Each ceramic artist per session will be able to make 2.75 cubic feet worth of work per session.
Only one sculpture project per session will be accepted. Sculpture max size: 18 in H x 14 in W x 14 in D
We will be running ~ 2 bisque firings and ~2 glaze firings per session.
Our kiln is a Cress FX25P, inside dimensions: 3.5 cubic feet, 16 inches interior diameter, 23 inch interior height. Glaze fire: cone 5 oxidation. Bisque: cone 06.
