As we enter the spring season, set intentions with us in this reflective and meditative two-part handbuilding and candle dipping workshop. Create your own candle altars adorned with silver charms to guide and protect you throughout the rest of the year.

After an introduction on basic handbuilding techniques, you will build a pair of candle holders or single candelabra with the clay of your choice. As you build, reflect on your intentions for the new season, and how the ritual of lighting candles will play a role in realizing these intentionswhether it’s to slow down, take time to reflect, foster community, or any other dreams you wish to manifest.

Once our candle holders have been built, we will engage in an intention setting ritual by candlelight, in which we decorate a placard with 2-3 intentions for the season and year, and make charms, trinkets, or runes that represent these intentions out of silver clay.

We will come back together to hand dip candles after your ceramic pieces and silver charms have been fired. In this second session, we will explore candle form, shape, and texture. You can choose to either embed your silver charms in the wax of your candles, or hang them as an adornment from your candle holders, serving as a reminder of your intentions each time you light them. If you decide to embed your charms, your candles will burn away to leave you with pure silver reminders or protective guides for the year to come.

Details:

Part 1: Saturday March 22, 4pm - 8pm

Part 2: Saturday April 5, 4pm - 7pm

850 N Virgil Ave
